Activities
The University Women’s Club’s active membership totals over 300. We start the year off with our Fall Membership Coffee followed by a New Member Tea at the President’s home to welcome new members.
The Lecture Luncheons are another integral part of the UWC. There are five lectures during the academic year, during which guest speakers give presentations on varied topics while members enjoy a catered lunch.
Special Interest Groups, including Book Clubs, Bridge, Garden, Hiking, Investment, Italian Conversation, Spanish Conversation, Bicycling, Music, Movie Group, Tea & Travel, and Winter Sports, meet each month for enrichment, friendship, and educational purposes. Members can choose which groups to attend. Some groups meet in the day time, others in the evening to accommodate members’ schedules.
FUNd-raisers provide fun and variety, and a chance for members to get to know each other in a more intimate setting. FUN-draisers vary annually.
The year culminates with the presentation of scholarships at the Spring Scholarship Luncheon, our major fund-raising event.
Our annual Margaret Willard Award as well as member accolades are awarded at our springtime Honor’s Reception.
