Volunteer Connection. Established in 1969 as a division of United Way, Volunteer Connection was one of the first volunteer information and referral centers in the nation. Our mission is to promote volunteerism, connect volunteers with opportunities and help organizations effectively engage volunteers to meet community needs. We annually refer thousands of individuals, families, youth, businesses, corporate and service groups to over 400 agencies and governmental programs in need of volunteers.
