History of UWC Scholarships

In 1982, the University Women’s Club established a scholarship fund to help nontraditional students achieve their educational goals.

These scholarships are designed to encourage aspiring CU-Boulder students who might not otherwise have the opportunity to continue their studies. Because they are older, recipients often face the difficult task of combining study with family and job responsibilities.

Funds come from individual donations and the earnings on the UWC Endowment Fund. As of 2015, $205,000 has been awarded to 110 CU-Boulder students.

Once the UWC Scholarship Committee reviews the scholarship applications, they send their award recommendations to the UWC Board of Directors for approval.

Scholarship winners are honored guests at the University Women’s Club annual Spring Scholarship Luncheon.
