Judy Amabile – State Senator District 18
Constructive Disagreement and Bona Fide Progress

State Senator Judy Amabile represents the people of District 18 and previously served as State Representative in District 49. She earned her BA and MBA from the University of Colorado in Boulder. She co-founded and for 25 years operated Product Architects, maker of the Polar Bottle brand. Senator Amabile has three adult sons, one of whom has a serious mental illness. Her legislative work has focused on improving treatment for serious mental illness, addressing injustice in the criminal justice system, enacting gun safety legislation, and making communities more resilient to the climate crisis. She is a member of the Joint Budget Committee and Chair of the Senate Appropriations Committee.

Come to this lecture to hear the Senator’s vision and priorities for the future, goals she hopes to achieve in particular areas, and her proposed solutions to ensure desired outcomes. We look forward to hearing about her hopes for Colorado’s future.
Senator Amabile will challenge the idea that our society is irreparably divided and share examples of substantive problem solving happening all around us. She will discuss successful policy making in the Colorado General Assembly and her approach to alliance building. The Senator also will share ideas for improving constructive disagreement and encouraging dialogue between opposing sides.
