University Memorial Center Tent

One of the free annual events for UWC members is the May Honors Reception.

The event will be held in the lovely tent on the South terrace of the University Memorial Center on Tuesday, May 13, 2025 starting at 2:30 p.m. Note this is after graduation, so there should be ample parking.

There will be tasty appetizers and beverages, time to socialize, plus an honoring of those who are on the UWC Board, Past Presidents and President Award winners, and our Margaret Williard Award winner.

This year we will also have some very special entertainment by a professional violinist, Mindy Anderson.

Although she is classically trained, Mindy enjoys playing a varied repertoire including opera arias, Jazz standards, Broadway hits, pop, folk and film music.  She even plays an occasional fiddle tune!

Mindy plays a violin made by Claude Chevrier in the mid-1800s in Mirecourt, France, Her bow is German made.

Her background includes:

First Violinist, Boulder Philharmonic

First Violinist, Greeley Philharmonic

First Violinist, Central City Opera

Substitute Violinist with Colorado Symphony Orchestra

Orchestra Teacher and Conductor, Fairview High School, Southern Hills Middle School, Mesa Elementary, and Bear Creek Elementary, Boulder Colorado

She also received a Certificate of Training as a Sacred Passage End-of-Life Doula.

She plays her violin at assisted living facilities, and similar places where she brings her music to elders. To learn more about Mindy Anderson CLICK HERE.
