About UWC

The University Women’s Club (UWC) of the University of Colorado Boulder was founded in 1919 to promote friendship among members and to provide service to the University and to the Boulder community.

These goals continue to this day for current UWC members. Since 1982, we have awarded scholarships for nontraditional students as part of our service commitment. More than 25 Interest Groups provide opportunities for activity and friendship. Club membership is open to women who are members or friends of the University.

Membership benefits include Interest Group opportunities; UWC events; MESSAGES newsletter; UWC web page; UWC Membership Handbook and Directory. Club membership is open to women who are members or friends of the University of Colorado.

To retain active membership, which includes eligibility to attend programs and meetings and to join Interest Groups, each member must pay annual dues.

  • Annual dues are $35. Dues follow the University academic calendar year.

Our History

The UWC has a long history of strong women leaders, dating back to the first UWC President, Mrs. Margaret Willard, who served from 1918-1919. Our annual Margaret Willard Award is named in honor of this pioneering woman.
