Virginia Ross

Ginny Ross was a member of the UWC for over 50 years.
She served on the UWC Board from 2008-2011 as Historian. She was a chair of the Needlecraft interest group for many years. She also served on the Centennial Book (2019) Committee.
Ginny received the President’s Award in 2011.
Ginnie was also very active as a miniaturist, displaying her designs not just at home, but at the Dollhouse Miniature Show at the Denver Museum of Miniatures, Dolls and Toys.
Betty Lou Huff

Betty Huff was a member of the UWC for almost 20 years.
She was a member of the UWC Board in 2007-8 as Interest Group Chair.
She was also active in several interest groups including Readers’ Theatre 2.

She lived in Boulder for decades. She and husband Bill moved to Crozet, VA in the Fall of 2023 to be near their son and family.

She was a co-author of “The Colorado Cookbook” to benefit the University of Colorado Libraries – Boulder. The book has a copyright o 1981. Many of the testers for the book were UWC members.

Carroll joined the UWC in the 2011 year. She became a member of the UWC Board serving as Nominating Chair in 2017-18, then Secretary-Elect in 2018-19, and Secretary in 2019-20
Jane Byers

Mary Jane Zollinger Byers, 94, passed peacefully at home among family and friends on January 13, 2021 in Boulder, Colorado.
Jane was a member of the University Wives Club where she was often a model for their fashion shows.
Her husband, Charles Albert Byers, was a music teacher for CU Boulder.
She was a member of various music groups including the Tuesday Morning music group and The Faculty Wives Music group. She sang in several operas including Katisha in The Mikado by Gilbert and Sullivan (conducted by Charles)
Jane was a loyal member of the UWC Music interest group.
She was a member of the UWC for over 50 years.
Norma Schattke

Norma Schattke was a member of the UWC for over 50 years. She was UWC President in 1985-86.
She co-chaired the Music Group for many years. She played the piano for many of the Music Group meetings
Virginia Stringi

Virginia joined the UWC in 2009 and was an active member since then:
- 2010-2011 Chair of Hospitality and co-chair of Current Events interest group
- 2011-2012 Chair of Hospitality and Chair of Tea and Travel interest group for many years!

- 2013-2014 Chair of the April Scholarship Luncheon and Co-Chair of the Book Group – Evening (through 2015-16)
- 2014-2015 Secretary
- 2015-2016 – Chair of the Opera Brunch plus President’s Award recipient
- 2016-2017 Chair of Membership
- 2018-2019 New Member Chair
Virginia was also a loyal member of the hiking group and the gardening group. She knew the names of all the wildflowers on the many hikes she took. She is sorely missed.
